What is the total Jaycee concept?
Our purpose is to determine community needs and provide solutions by planning and facilitating community service projects. In the act of serving members receive hands-on experience, which translates to the enhancement of personal growth and the development of valuable leadership skills.
Community Development
The Jaycees are a community-oriented organization. Participation in projects not only betters the community, but gives the individual member the opportunity to use skills learned through management development and individual development.
Management Development
Through project coordination the Jaycees provide an excellent opportunity for a member to use and improve his management skills. Major emphasis is placed on financial and personal management, public relations, planning, training and communications. Monies raised from projects are donated to local charities.
Individual Development
The Jaycees will provide the individual member with the opportunity for self improvement. The basic techniques of speaking before groups, developing leadership abilities, family life, and spiritual development are accessible to members. Each member can participate in activities designed to enhance growth as a leader of others, as a Jaycee and as a person.
